| JOB OPPORTUNITIES INVESTMENT OFFICER International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, promotes sustainable private sector investment in developing countries as a means to reduce poverty and improve people’s lives. IFC’s South Asia Department (CSA) is looking to hire an Investment Officer for its Bangladesh operations. The position is based in Dhaka and will report to the Bangladesh Country Manager. The successful candidate will be a key member of the South Asia investment team, and will work closely with IFC’s offices in the region. CSA has a diverse program consisting of investments in Financial Sector and a range of Industrial Sectors, including General Manufacturing and Services, Oil, Gas, Chemicals and Mining, Telecom and Information Technology, Health and Education, Agribusiness, Infrastructure and Power. Key responsibilities include: - Promote IFC’s business in the financial and non-financial sectors in Bangladesh and neighboring countries.
- Identify and present new business opportunities.
- Identify and raise key project issues that may affect the quality of a project.
- Monitor operational and financial performance of clients and compliance (IFC and external), through visits and market analysis. Handle disbursements, waivers and other client requests.
- Keep abreast of developments in countries where clients are located; identify and analyze strengths and weaknesses in order to anticipate near-and long term performance.
- Proactively identify problem projects and negotiate restructurings.
- Stay current with changing business and market environment.
- Develop and maintain strong relationship with clients, government officials and technical and financial partners.
- Work proactively to add value to clients in terms of investments by IFC and/or informal/formal technical assistance, and identify opportunities for repeat business. Develop and execute those opportunities.
- Manage portfolio companies until exit.
Qualifications: - Ø MBA or equivalent degree with specialization in finance.
- Ø At least 5-6 years of experience in a financial institution with a proven track record in developing and executing successful transactions.
- Ø Strong analytical and problem solving skills to identify issues and present creative, practical solutions.
- Ø Ability to work successfully in multicultural teams and across boundaries.
- Ø Strong teamwork and excellent presentation skills in English (oral and written)
- Ø Travel within Bangladesh and to other countries is required.
The position is a term appointment for two years based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The position is subject to local recruitment.
